Patricia Barwise Memorial

Patricia Barwise, born Patricia Hulme, was celebrated as a devoted matriarch and cherished community member following her passing in 2024. Born on September 21, 1941, in the vibrant Liverpool neighborhood of Norris Green, she was the eldest sibling in her family.

At the age of 16, she met Paul Barwise, a spirited individual known for his love of adventure, including running and motorbiking. The couple married on September 16, 1961, and eventually moved to Canada, influenced by Paul’s brother’s relocation there. “They came for a minute, but stayed a lifetime,” stated her family.

Patricia’s life was marked by her dedication to her family, nurturing her children and grandchildren with care and love. She was known for her welcoming nature, addressing everyone warmly as “Love,” which left a lasting impression on all she encountered.

Facing health challenges later in life, Patricia expressed excitement at the thought of reuniting with her loved ones. She passed away peacefully at home on October 15, surrounded by her family. Her daughters, Susan Finn and Sharron Gagnier, express gratitude for the impact she had on their lives and the lives of her grandchildren, who were deeply influenced by her guidance.

A visitation was arranged at Melady Funeral Home in Belle River, Canada, on October 18, 2024, followed by a service commemorating Patricia’s life. Known for her charitable spirit, Patricia was passionate about supporting the Windsor Downtown Mission, and in her memory, donations were encouraged in lieu of flowers.
