Remembering Shawn Edward Moore: A Life Filled with Love and Laughter

GALION, Ohio — Shawn Edward Moore, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away suddenly on February 14, 2025, as he was preparing for work. He fought a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure but remained known for his kindness and humor even in challenging times.

Born on January 13, 1967, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Shawn was the son of Donnie G. and Diana G. Moore. He leaves behind his son, Casey J. Moore of Galion, and daughter, Kortney E. N. Moore of Shiloh, along with three grandsons, Aiden, Kohwen, and Emerson Hammond.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, Moore is survived by his mother, Diana Moore, and siblings, including his sister and brother-in-law, David and Dawn Dudleson, both of Galion. He is also mourned by various other family members, including numerous nieces and nephews.

A proud fan of the Michigan Wolverines, Shawn’s love for his team was matched only by his affection for his family. “Dad loved to have fun with the kids, whether it was playing or just sharing a laugh,” his children said, remembering him as a generous person who was always willing to help others.

Shawn was predeceased by his father, Donnie G. Moore, and his brother, Bert H. Moore. His paternal grandparents, Curly and Eva Moore, and maternal grandparents, Walter and Esta Stumbo, also passed before him.

The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Shawn’s life at Messiah’s House of Prayer, located at 74 Pettit St, Shiloh, OH 44878, on March 1, 2025. The gathering will begin at 3 p.m., followed by a dinner. The Moore family hopes to share stories and fond memories of Shawn with attendees.
