Reuben Garrick Climbs Manly Sea Eagles Record Books with Impressive Performance
Reuben Garrick has further cemented his place in the Manly Sea Eagles history books following their recent victory in the NRL Elimination Final. On Sunday, Garrick converted four key goals, propelling him to a significant career milestone of 1,160 points, surpassing Bob Batty’s previous record of 1,158 points.
The match against Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs took place at Accor Stadium, where Garrick’s effective performance helped secure the win for his team and advanced him to third place in the club’s all-time point scorers list. It is noteworthy that the points system for rugby league tries changed from three to four points back in 1982, which adds context to the achievement.
At 27 years of age, Garrick’s impressive record includes 77 tries and 426 goals over 135 games since he started his career with Manly in 2019. With Garrick’s contract with the Sea Eagles extending until the end of the 2027 season, he is in a strong position to challenge the club’s all-time highest point scorer, Graham Eadie, whose record stands at 1,917 points.
The top five all-time point scorers for Manly are led by Graham Eadie, who accumulated 1,917 points, followed by Jamie Lyon with 1,410. Garrick’s current third place is followed by Bob Batty with 1,158, and Matthew Ridge with 1,093 points, showcasing a long history of proficient players at the club.
The achievements and contributions of these players have been pivotal in shaping the competitive stature of the Manly Sea Eagles, a team with a proud heritage in rugby league.
