Robert F Kennedy Jr Blue Drink Airplane

WASHINGTON – Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sparked speculation online after a video surfaced showing him adding a blue liquid to a drink while on a plane. The 72-year-old, awaiting confirmation to lead the Department of Health and Human Services under President Trump, is seen in the video administering droplets of cobalt-blue liquid into what appears to be a cup of water.

n

The footage, which spread rapidly on social media, did not show Kennedy consuming the concoction. Some users jokingly referred to the liquid as “liberals’ tears,” a play on the controversy surrounding his nomination, particularly among those critical of his stance on vaccinations.

n

Medical experts suggested the blue liquid was likely methylene blue, a man-made dye gaining popularity in alternative medicine circles. Studies suggest potential benefits for conditions like aging, dementia, Lyme disease, and even cancer, although research has primarily focused on animals and human cells, not humans.

n

Kennedy’s ties to methylene blue surfaced recently when he claimed that three friends diagnosed with stage-four cancer had recovered after incorporating methylene blue supplements into their treatment regimen. However, those claims remain unsubstantiated.

n

Despite potential benefits, methylene blue also carries risks. Some studies indicate a possible increase in cancer risk at higher doses. Dr. Jesse Morse, a sports medicine physician, confirmed on social media that the substance appeared to be methylene blue.

n

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves methylene blue for treating methemoglobinemia, a rare blood disorder affecting fewer than 100 Americans annually. It works by restoring hemoglobin, the protein responsible for oxygen transport.

n

While primarily prescribed intravenously, methylene blue has gained traction in biohacking circles as a supplement purportedly combating aging. Some research suggests antioxidant properties, potentially beneficial in reducing brain proteins linked to dementia. However, further studies are needed to validate these claims.

n

Kennedy’s nomination for HHS remains controversial. His stances on vaccinations, abortion, and climate change have drawn scrutiny, and his confirmation hearings faced intense questioning from both Democrats and Republicans. Despite securing votes from every Senate Republican, he faces challenges gaining enough support to secure a Senate confirmation.
