Ryan Eggold Law & Order Episode

Kenneth City, FL – The beloved duo of the Riley brothers is reuniting on television in the next episode of Law & Order, airing Thursday, October 30. Ryan Eggold returns as Matt, brother to Reid Scott‘s Detective Vince Riley.

This reunion comes after a tense encounter in a previous episode where Detective Riley arrested Matt for not testifying in a legal case. Now, Matt has been released from prison, and the two brothers are set to share their first moments together onscreen in the episode titled “Brotherly Love.”

In a sneak peek shared with TV Insider, the brothers exchange apologies and catch up after their long separation. Detective Riley expresses regret for not visiting Matt in prison, to which Matt responds, “It’s a long drive, plus the old prison jumpsuit thing,” demonstrating their unique brotherly banter.

The dynamic between the two characters is complex, as portrayed by Scott. He shared, “It’s always tense between these two brothers because they could not be more different… This time, they’re a little more simpatico.” He notes that Matt seems to be adjusting well post-prison, which adds intrigue to their relationship.

Despite their improved rapport, Detective Riley struggles with trust issues stemming from their past. Scott elaborated, “He certainly wants to trust him, but after a life of being let down, he’s just desperately hoping that his brother comes through this time.” This moral dilemma adds depth to the episode and highlights their strained sibling relationship.

As the episode unfolds, viewers are left to wonder how Matt’s release will impact the ongoing narrative, particularly as he plays a pivotal role in a case that involves a restaurant owner’s murder. Law & Order fans can catch all the action on NBC at 8 p.m. ET, followed by Law & Order: SVU at 9 p.m.

For those missing Ryan Eggold’s previous performances, his work in New Amsterdam and The Blacklist is also available for streaming.
