Traffic congestion is being reported on the A38 between Ivybridge and Wrangaton due to an obstruction on the road, as confirmed by traffic monitoring site Inrix. The obstruction has resulted in the closure of both directions of the road, causing significant queuing of vehicles and delays in the area.

According to Inrix, the obstruction was initially reported at approximately 7:35 AM, with the affected stretch lying between the B3213 at Ivybridge and the A3121 Kingsbridge Road at Wrangaton Cross. Efforts to manage the situation are ongoing, with traffic authorities advising drivers to expect delays and consider alternative routes.

Stagecoach SouthWest, a prominent local bus service provider, has also tweeted about the incident, highlighting that their Gold services are experiencing delays as a consequence of diverted traffic. “Due to the ongoing incident on the A38 near Ivybridge, our Gold services are being delayed due to all traffic being diverted. We are sorry for this delay this morning,” the tweet stated.

Further reports indicate heavy congestion on the A38 Eastbound, particularly before the Tamar Bridge heading into Devon. Current travel time in this area is reported to be around ten minutes. Live traffic maps from the AA also illustrate substantial congestion near Ivybridge.

As of 8:26 AM, Inrix has updated its report to indicate that traffic is queuing due to the earlier obstruction, although the initial object causing the delay seems to have been moved from the road. Travelers are advised to stay updated on the situation and plan their journeys accordingly.
