Rob Marciano, the former ABC News meteorologist, is reportedly making a return to broadcasting. According to Oliver Darcy‘s newsletter, Marciano will join CBS News, although details regarding his debut on the network remain undisclosed. This move follows Marciano’s controversial departure from ABC, where he had served as a meteorologist for “Good Morning America” and “ABC World News Tonight with David Muir.”

Marciano’s exit from ABC earlier this year was mired in controversy involving allegations of “improper behavior.” Reports suggest that his dismissal was tied to multiple complaints over the years, culminating in a heated altercation with a “Good Morning America” producer.

Before his decade-long tenure at ABC, Marciano co-hosted “Entertainment Tonight” and worked at CNN, appearing on shows such as “Early Start” and “Starting Point.” His career in meteorology also included a stint as chief meteorologist in the Portland area from 1997 to 2003.

CBS News has been undergoing significant changes recently, including a shake-up that saw former “CBS Evening News” anchor Jeff Glor transition to Saturday Morning hosting roles amid a series of layoffs. Marciano’s hiring is part of this restructuring, though CBS has yet to confirm the specifics of his new role.

Inside sources have mentioned that some of Marciano’s colleagues at ABC opposed the manner in which his departure was handled, describing the portrayal of Marciano as inconsistent with their personal experiences of his character. TVLine has contacted CBS and Marciano’s representatives for further comment on his new position and the circumstances surrounding his previous employment.
