LOS ANGELES, California — Robert Pattinson says becoming a father has changed him in unexpected ways. In a post shared on Oct. 2, ahead of an upcoming interview with Icon Magazine, the ‘Twilight‘ star opened up about his life as a dad to his 17-month-old daughter, whose name remains private.

“I have so much more patience,” Pattinson, 39, told the magazine. “It’s funny, it’s not even patience; I genuinely enjoy hanging out with babies.” He added that he is surprised by how much fatherhood has transformed him.

Pattinson jokes about experiencing “real, normie conversations” regarding issues like schools and daycares. “It’s so strange,” he said. “It’s like there’s this gravitational pull… Like, I have to wear Patagonia puffer jackets and cargo shorts now. I just have to.”

His engagement to Suki Waterhouse in 2023, after five years of dating, has further enriched his experience of parenthood. Pattinson noted that having a baby brings a new source of energy and inspiration. “In the most unexpected ways, having a baby gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration afterward,” he stated in May.

For Pattinson, each day feels like a new beginning since the birth of his daughter. He remarked, “I feel like I’m a completely different person the next day.”

Waterhouse, 33, shares his sentiments about their daughter’s budding interest in the fashion world, likely influenced by her mother’s career. “My daughter really loves fittings,” she said during New York Fashion Week. “Like when I have something to go to, she wants to come to the fitting.”

Interestingly, one of their daughter’s first words was “fittings.” Waterhouse also mentioned her daughter’s fascination with her jewelry. “She’s constantly making me take off my rings and she loves jewelry and sparkly things,” Waterhouse noted. “I feel like she loves what I like, so it’s been really, really fun to include her in everything.”
