Robson Green Hospitalized after Eating Imposter Mushrooms in Scotland
Robson Green, the well-known actor and TV presenter, recently revealed that he ended up in hospital after consuming wild mushrooms that turned out to be imposters. This incident occurred during a recent episode of his popular show, Weekend Escapes, which is available to watch on the BBC iPlayer.
During the episode, Robson visited St Abb’s Head in Scotland alongside celebrity chef Kenny Atkinson. As Kenny demonstrated the preparation of a delicious steak dish on a portable stove, Robson shared his previous experience with wild mushrooms. He mentioned that he had fallen ill after mistaking some mushrooms growing outside his home for field mushrooms.
Expressing his caution, Robson said, ‘Anything outside my garden, I’m not going to pick. I need to be with an expert.’ He then engaged Kenny in a conversation about his culinary career, asking if he had any favorite chefs. Kenny named renowned personalities such as Marco Pierre White, Gordon Ramsay, the Roux brothers, and Gary Rhodes as his inspirations.
Later in the episode, Robson participated in a pottery class and created a clay fish sculpture, which he named ‘Sweet Lips.’ This artwork would eventually be auctioned for charity, raising an impressive £500.
Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes is gaining popularity and can now be streamed on the BBC iPlayer, allowing audiences to join him on his exciting adventures.
