Rod Stewart is getting ready to celebrate his 80th birthday in January, but he’s not letting that slow him down. In a recent chat, he opened up about how the milestone hasn’t changed his approach to life or music.

Even though Stewart admits he’s aware of his age, he doesn’t dwell on it. “I’m aware my days are numbered, but I’ve got no fear,” he said, adding that he plans to enjoy himself as much as possible for what he calls his last few years, estimating he could have another 15 ahead of him.

The legendary rock star, who has been performing in Las Vegas at Caesar’s Palace for the last 13 years, reflects on how things have changed. He noted, “I’m not like I was in the ’70s and ’80s and I can’t stay up all night, get drunk and go mad and still have a voice just like that.” Nowadays, he says he has to take extra care of his voice before and after each show.

Even though he’s taking care of himself more now, that doesn’t mean he’s missing out on fun. Stewart shared that he still enjoys a good time with his band every night after performing. “We go mad after every show,” he chuckled, showing that the rock star spirit is still very much alive in him.

On the health front, after facing battles with both prostate and thyroid cancer, Stewart claims to be more health-conscious than ever. He keeps active, even discussing building a running track at his UK home with the goal of breaking a world record for his age group.

His wife, Penny Lancaster, shared insights about his energetic lifestyle, confirming he loves his work and has no plans to retire. “He’s a workaholic and constantly on the move,” she said, emphasizing how he thrives on his busy schedule.

As a father of eight, Stewart’s family also plays a huge role in keeping him youthful. “The younger generation gives him strength and drive,” Lancaster noted, painting a picture of a man who refuses to slow down as he enjoys the later years of his life and career.
