Visitors will soon have the rare opportunity to explore the inner sanctum of the historic Balmoral Castle, a favored royal residence nestled in the majestic Scottish Highlands.

Known to be Queen Elizabeth II‘s beloved summer haven, Balmoral Castle has announced the launch of exclusive interior tours, granting access to areas previously off-limits to the public.

The guided tours, scheduled to run between July 1st and August 4th, will offer intimate glimpses into the royal quarters with each group limited to just 10 individuals, ensuring a personalized experience.

For the first time in history, visitors will have a chance to wander through the opulent rooms that have welcomed generations of the Royal Family since the castle’s completion in 1855.

The tour will showcase the rich history of Balmoral Castle, from its acquisition by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert to its current role as a cherished summer retreat for members of the Royal Family, including present-day residents, King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Highlights of the tour include a visit to the ballroom adorned with King’s watercolours of Balmoral, Highgrove, and Sandringham, as well as a display of outfits worn by various royal family members over the years.

Beyond the unveiling of the castle’s inner workings, this summer marks a milestone for royal residences as the East Wing of Buckingham Palace also opens its doors to visitors for the first time, offering a rare glimpse into the heart of British monarchy.

As Balmoral Castle embraces tourism, welcoming guests from near and far to experience its regal splendor, the spirit of the Scottish sanctuary remains steeped in history and tradition, beckoning travelers to explore its storied past.
