Ryan Reynolds Blake Lively Justin Baldoni Legal Dispute

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Ryan Reynolds, known for his iconic role as Deadpool, is under renewed scrutiny after past allegations of on-set mistreatment by co-star TJ Miller resurfaced. The controversy coincides with a high-stakes legal battle involving Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, and filmmaker Justin Baldoni, who has been accused of sexual harassment and fostering a hostile work environment.

In a 2022 podcast interview, Miller, who played Weasel in the Deadpool films, claimed Reynolds was “horrifically mean” to him on set. Miller recounted an incident where Reynolds, in character, allegedly told him, “You know what’s great about you, Weasel? You’re not the star, but you do just enough exposition that it’s funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.” Miller described the interaction as “weird” but clarified there was no lingering animosity. Reynolds later reached out to Miller via email to address the misunderstanding, and the two reportedly resolved their differences.

Meanwhile, Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni, her director and co-star in the film *It Ends With Us*, of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. Baldoni has denied the allegations and filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist, Leslie Soane. Baldoni’s lawsuit claims Lively took over the creative process and alleges she forced him and his family to stay in a basement holding area during the film’s premiere.

Lively’s legal team dismissed Baldoni’s lawsuit as a classic example of DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender). In a statement, they said, “The evidence will show that Sony asked Ms. Lively to oversee Sony’s cut of the film, which they then selected for distribution, and it was a magnificent success.”

The resurfaced allegations against Reynolds and the ongoing legal battle have sparked widespread discussion on social media. Fans are revisiting Miller’s comments, which initially emerged during the promotion of *Deadpool & Wolverine*, released in July 2024. Miller, who was not asked to return for the third Deadpool film, has expressed interest in reprising his role in a potential fourth installment.

Baldoni’s lawsuit also accuses Lively and Reynolds of conspiring to damage his reputation. He claims Lively alienated the cast from him and took control of the film’s creative direction. Lively’s attorneys countered, stating, “This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation, and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim.”

As the legal drama unfolds, Reynolds continues to focus on his career, recently making a surprise appearance at Hugh Jackman’s live show. The actor has not publicly commented on the resurfaced allegations or the ongoing lawsuit.
