Ryanair has unveiled its winter 2024 flight schedule, introducing new flights from the United Kingdom to the popular tourist destination of Lapland, Finland. Described by the airline as “a winter wonderland like no other,” Lapland is renowned for its magical winter landscapes and is considered the home of Father Christmas.

The airline announced that starting October 27, 2024, travelers will be offered two return flights per week from Liverpool and five return flights per week from London Stansted to Lapland-Rovaniemi Airport. The destination is particularly famed for its attractions including husky and reindeer rides, ice hotels, and the stunning Northern Lights, which are best viewed in December.

Jade Kirwan, head of communications at Ryanair, stated, “Christmas has come early for our UK customers with the launch of Ryanair’s Winter 2024 Lapland schedule. Lapland is every kid’s dream with magical experiences that families will share forever.” She encouraged potential travelers to book early to secure the best fares.

The newly announced schedule reflects the rising demand for festive travel experiences. Current ticket prices for next month start at £49.98 for a return trip lasting from four to seven days. The airline also emphasized the importance of early planning to beat the rush for seasonal travel.

However, travelers are reminded of the airline’s baggage policy updates, which may affect additional costs for luggage. Ryanair’s current policy requires an extra fee for Priority boarding in order to bring a 10kg suitcase on the plane, along with a personal item. Prices for adding a 10kg case now range from £6 to £60 depending on the timing and location of purchase.

Ryanair’s recent changes to cabin baggage policies have prompted discussions among travelers, with the airline explaining that fees are dependent on the selected route and travel dates. The increase in baggage fees has been noted, with non-priority customers facing charges up to £60 if not booked in advance.
