San Antonio Braces for Severe Weather and Heavy Rainfall This Week
San Antonio is preparing for a significant weather event as a cold front brings increased chances of heavy rainfall and severe storms to the area. According to the National Weather Service, scattered to numerous showers and primarily non-severe thunderstorms are expected to spread across South-Central Texas on Thursday, November 7, and Friday, November 8.
The KENS 5 Weather Team has issued Weather Impact Alert Days for Thursday and Friday, warning of a slight chance for strong to severe storms, particularly in western counties. These storms could be accompanied by gusty winds and hail. The region has already experienced strong downpours earlier in the week, with some areas receiving more than an inch of rain.
Rainfall totals are projected to be between 3 to 6 inches, with locally higher amounts up to 10 inches possible. This increased rainfall raises concerns about flash flooding and mudslides, especially in higher elevation areas.
Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and warnings. The KENS 5 app and other local weather services are recommended for real-time information and alerts).
