San Francisco Fleet Week Air Show Schedule

San Francisco Fleet Week 2024 is underway, featuring a series of exciting events, including the highly anticipated air shows headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Here is a detailed schedule of the air shows and other key events.

The air shows will take place on Friday, October 11, Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13. On Friday, the air show starts at 12:45 p.m., while on Saturday and Sunday, the shows begin at 12:30 p.m.

The schedule for each day includes various performances: – Anthem by the U.S. Navy Parachute Team – United Airlines demonstration – MH-65/C-27 Demo – Patriots Jet Team (Saturday and Sunday) – F-22 Demo and F-22 Heritage Flight – Ace Maker – T-33 – F-35B Demo – Randy Howell/Cory Lovell – Dual performance – The Blue Angels, including Fat Albert and the Blue Angels Team 1-6, are expected to perform at 3 p.m. each day.

The air shows are weather dependent, with specific conditions required for different types of performances. For a high show, the ceiling must be 8,000 feet or higher with visibility of at least 3 nautical miles. For a low show, the cloud ceiling must be at least 4,500 feet, and if it drops below 1,000 feet, the Blue Angels will not fly.

In addition to the air shows, other events include the Parade of Ships on Friday, October 11, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., where ships will sail under the Golden Gate Bridge. Ship tours are available from October 9 to 14 at various piers along the San Francisco waterfront, offering a glimpse into the lives of sailors serving in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.

For optimal viewing, several locations have been recommended, including Alameda Point, Emeryville Marina, Fort Baker, Point Isabel, and rooftop spaces in restaurants. Boarding a ferry or visiting Angel Island are also suggested options.
