Sarah Jessica Parker, renowned for her role in “Sex and the City,” is in the midst of expanding her home with husband Matthew Broderick, known for “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” in a significant architectural project in New York City’s West Village. The couple made headlines in 2016 when they purchased two adjacent townhouses for approximately $34.5 million. The ambitious plan is to combine these properties into a single mansion, an endeavor that continues into 2023.

The combined residence is expected to span a vast 13,900 square feet upon completion, which is roughly one-third of a football field. In addition to the living space, the property will also feature a 2,100 square-foot private garden. This outdoor area caters to Parker and Broderick’s family’s lifestyle, as they are parents to three children: James, 21, and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha, 15.

The couple enlisted the expertise of Morris Adjimi Architects to oversee the extensive renovations. Reports indicate that the cost of these renovations could exceed $50 million. This development is part of a series of impressive real estate acquisitions the couple has made since their marriage in 1997.

In addition to their New York properties, Parker and Broderick purchased a vacation home in Amagansett, Long Island, in 2005 for $6.6 million. The couple has mentioned that they furnished this retreat with vintage pieces collected over the years, aiming to create a homey atmosphere where they could enjoy family gatherings.

While primarily associated with the West Village, Parker and Broderick have diversified their property investments. Between 2000 and 2015, they owned a newlywed townhouse, and from 2011 to 2015, they resided in a Greek Revival-style townhouse in Greenwich Village.
