The 88-year-old monarch is receiving treatment with antibiotics as he remains at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah. This update follows an earlier report of a high temperature and joint pain that prompted medical tests and evaluation.

The Royal Court released a statement revealing that the recent tests identified a lung infection in King Salman. The monarch’s medical team has prescribed a comprehensive treatment plan involving antibiotics until the inflammation subsides. King Salman, who ascended the throne in 2015, continues to be a pivotal figure in Saudi Arabia, although day-to-day governance is predominantly overseen by his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
