Savage Dragon Joins Wave 2 of LongBox Heroes on Kickstarter

CHICAGO, IL – LongBox Heroes, a collectible toy line that brings iconic indie comic book characters to life, has officially launched its Wave 2 campaign on Kickstarter. This release features the highly anticipated return of Savage Dragon and his son, Malcolm Dragon, among other beloved heroes and villains.
The latest wave is developed by independent toy makers Fresh Monkey Fiction and ToyOtter Toys, which first entered the market in 2022 with a nostalgic line inspired by classic comic book toys from the 1980s. Wave 1 included beloved figures like The Tick, The Goon, and Madman, all of which received positive feedback from collectors.
Wave 2 promises to expand this collection with twelve new figures standing at 4.5 inches tall, each accompanied by impressive card back packaging featuring original artwork. Notable characters joining the lineup include those from The Tick and The Rocketeer, alongside new entries such as Hallow Fire and Mage.
“That’s right, The LongBox Heroes Collection is back! This new wave features a selection of action figures based on some of the biggest names in creator-owned comic book heroes and villains,” said Jason Geyer, the designer and sculptor behind the figures. “We’ve designed them to reflect the classic action figure aesthetics while ensuring they meet the articulation needs of fans.”
The campaign has a funding goal of $150,000 to kickstart production, with individual figures priced at $25 and a complete set offered at $275. Additionally, the team is teasing unlockable characters as stretch goals are reached during the campaign.
“We’re thrilled to see independent comics like Savage Dragon finally receiving the collectibles they deserve after all this time,” Geyer added.
The Kickstarter campaign is currently live, inviting supporters to contribute and secure their pieces from this unique collection. The figures not only serve as collectibles but also celebrate the rich history of independent comics and their impact on pop culture.
