21 Savage Drops Highly Anticipated ‘American Dream’ Album
21 Savage has just released his highly anticipated album ‘American Dream‘ on Slaughter Gang and Epic Records, marking his first solo album in nearly six years. The album features a star-studded lineup of collaborators including Brent Faiyaz, Summer Walker, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Lil Durk, and Mariah the Scientist.
American Dream was announced earlier in the week and serves as the soundtrack for 21 Savage’s debut film ‘American Dream: The 21 Savage Story,’ which is set to be directed by Rick Famuyiwa and released on Independence Day 2024.
The album is a follow-up to Savage’s 2018 sophomore record ‘I Am > I Was,’ which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards. His hit single ‘A Lot,’ featuring J. Cole, went on to win the Grammy for Best Rap Song that same year.
In 2020, Savage collaborated with Metro Boomin on the album ‘Savage Mode II,’ which also reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Additionally, his project ‘Her Loss‘ with Drake debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2022, marking his third album to achieve this feat.
Outside of his music career, 21 Savage has been recognized for his philanthropic efforts. The state of Georgia declared December 21st as 21 Savage Day, in acknowledgment of his foundation ‘Leading By Example,’ which promotes financial literacy education and provides scholarships and job placement for underserved youth nationwide.
Fans of 21 Savage can also expect to see him perform at the upcoming Reading and Leeds Festivals in the U.K. this year. Stream ‘American Dream’ in full now.
