Scientists Investigate Mysterious Metal Sphere Found in Colombia

Buga, Colombia — A team of scientists is currently investigating a mysterious metal sphere reportedly spotted flying over Buga on March 2. Initial observations suggest that the object might be of extraterrestrial origin, though some experts remain skeptical.
Jose Luis Velazquez, one of the researchers analyzing the sphere, noted it displays “no welds or joints,” which are typically indicative of human-made objects. He indicated that the sphere’s surface features peculiar carvings and is composed of three layers of metal, with nine microspheres found inside.
“It is a very rare piece … I’ve never seen a piece like this,” Velazquez remarked. His team conducted X-ray examinations, finding the structure to be quite unusual.
Julia Mossbridge, from the University of San Diego‘s Department of Physics and co-founder of The Institute for Love and Time, remarked that the object “looks to me like a really cool art project.” She emphasized the need for proper vetting of such artifacts, recommending they be analyzed by groups like the Galileo Project, which seeks rigorous scientific scrutiny of potential extraterrestrial objects.
Mossbridge added that while there are many unexplained aerial phenomena (UAPs), not all should be immediately labeled as UFOs. “We’ve been looking at UAPs for decades, and the federal government has admitted that there are things that we don’t understand, but we are investigating them,” she noted.
The object, reported to weigh about four and a half pounds and have a cold exterior, was recovered shortly after it was spotted. Eyewitness reports suggest it fell from the sky, moving erratically before landing.
David Velez el Potro, one of the individuals involved in the recovery, shared details of the sphere’s strange properties, claiming that pouring water on it caused it to smoke, suggesting unusual thermal characteristics. There have been no formal scientific confirmations regarding the sphere’s origins, and Velez el Potro expressed his reluctance to hand it over to government authorities.
Despite the uncertainty, this peculiar discovery has stirred interest in UFO research and non-governmental investigations into other unexplained phenomena. Mossbridge emphasized that thorough research is essential to understanding these mysteries and ensuring proper actions are taken.
