Seattle Braces for Dry Week with Freezing Fog Risks
SEATTLE, Wash. – Seattle residents can expect a week of dry weather with occasional freezing fog, according to FOX 13 Meteorologist Abby Acone. While the region will avoid significant snowstorms, temperatures will remain below average, creating potential hazards for drivers.
After an early morning shower on Saturday, drier conditions are forecasted for the rest of the day, with highs reaching the mid to upper 40s. A weakening convergence zone brought showers to Snohomish County earlier in the day, but most areas will remain dry.
Sunday through Thursday will follow a consistent pattern of morning clouds giving way to afternoon sunshine. However, temperatures will stay cooler than usual, with overnight lows dipping into the 30s. This could lead to freezing fog, particularly in the early mornings.
“Be extremely careful driving on bridges and overpasses,” Acone warned. “Those are the first to freeze, and black ice can be a big danger with freezing fog.”
Dry conditions are expected to persist through Friday, offering a reprieve for those seeking clear skies. However, the lack of precipitation means no significant snowfall in the mountains, disappointing winter sports enthusiasts.
