Central Florida Heavy Rain Storm Forecast

ORLANDO, Fla. — A cold front is sweeping across Central Florida, bringing with it a forecast of heavy rain and strong winds from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025.

First Warning Weather meteorologists report that while early morning conditions may be relatively calm, scattered showers and thunderstorms will begin affecting the region late morning, especially in northwest communities. By noon, storm activity is expected to intensify as the systems move southeast across central counties.

“The main concern today is wind, with gusts potentially reaching up to 30 mph,” said Chief Meteorologist Tony Mainolfi. “There is a slight chance for a few of the storms to enhance into severe levels, requiring close monitoring for possible tornado activity.”

Residents can anticipate most rainfall clearing by mid-afternoon, transitioning to mostly clear conditions by evening. However, the potential for localized flooding remains, particularly in areas with heavy downpours.

Temperatures are currently in the 70s, rising slightly throughout the day but remaining breezy. Winds are expected to be sustained at 15 to 25 mph, leading to a wind advisory from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. This advisory warns citizens to secure outdoor items and remain cautious of falling debris.

The impact of the weather system could lead to a variety of hazards, with damaging winds deemed the principal threat. Less likely but possible risks include marginally sized hail and isolated tornadoes, which officials will continue to monitor as the system progresses across the region.

Optimistic forecasts suggest that after the cold front passes, high pressure will move in, allowing for drier conditions. Tomorrow, residents can expect partly sunny skies with highs in the mid-70s, and temperatures in the low 80s are anticipated by Wednesday.
