Severe Storms Hit Texas and Louisiana with Tornado Watches Issued

HOUSTON, Texas – Texas and Louisiana are bracing for severe weather as multiple warnings and watches have been issued across the region. From midday through the afternoon, scattered storms are expected to bring the risk of tornadoes, hail, and high winds.
The National Weather Service has declared a tornado watch for Houston and much of Central Texas, identifying areas north of Interstate 10 as particularly vulnerable. The storm system is anticipated to peak in intensity this afternoon.
FOX 26 Chief Meteorologist Zack Shields stated, “It’s crucial for residents to stay informed and have a method to receive weather alerts on their phones today.” A flood watch is also in effect for counties north of Houston, with forecasts suggesting 2-3 inches of rain could affect Galveston, Brazoria, and surrounding areas.
AUSTIN, Texas – Earlier today, several tornado warnings were issued in Central Texas. One tornado was confirmed in Cameron. Leslie London reported that these warnings have now expired, although scattered thunderstorms may linger throughout the afternoon.
In Memphis, Tennessee, the weather is milder but cloudy, with an isolated rain chance. The temperature is expected to rise to the low 70s as scattered showers are forecast to continue into Thursday.
Residents in both Texas and Louisiana are advised to take precautions amid the ongoing severe weather, with meteorologists warning of powerful storms that have already caused damage in areas like College Station, Texas. Video footage has shown significant winds and hail damaging properties.
As the situation develops, local authorities and weather experts encourage everyone in affected regions to stay alert and prepared for changing conditions.
