Severe Storms Likely This Weekend in Mid-South Region

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The National Weather Service has warned of strong to severe storms in the Mid-South this weekend, with specific risks outlined for Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, the region faces a Slight to Enhanced Risk (levels 2 and 3 of 5) for severe storms. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has already been issued for Marion, Wynne, and Marked Tree in Arkansas, effective until 9:00 a.m. Residents can expect showers and storms primarily in the morning and midday hours.
On Sunday, the risk level for severe storms drops to Marginal (level 1 of 5). There will still be a chance of showers and storms, although significantly less than Saturday.
The forecast for Saturday includes a sunrise at 5:46 a.m. CT and high temperatures reaching the mid-80s. Winds are expected to be from the southwest at 5-10 mph.
Looking ahead, the forecast for Monday predicts partly sunny skies with more showers and storms possible, with highs in the low 80s. Tuesday and Wednesday are predicted to be partly sunny and warm, with temperatures near 85 degrees. By Thursday, rain may return as partly sunny conditions continue with highs in the mid-80s.
