The Storm Prediction Center has assessed the area with an Enhanced Risk for storms, rating it a Level 3 out of 5, particularly affecting Montgomery County.
Storms are characterized by strong winds and the potential for costly damage. Chaney notes that the Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) could bring high wind threats, accompanied by the possibility of hail or brief tornadoes.
Residents can expect partly cloudy skies in the morning and early afternoon, with isolated thunderstorms possible. The main timeline for severe weather is projected from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. today.
Wind damage is the biggest concern, while the risk of large hail or isolated tornadoes remains relatively low, according to the SPC. Storm Center 7 will provide constant updates on the evolving situation.
