Cincinnati Thunderstorms April 2025

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Cincinnati region is preparing for severe thunderstorms expected on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Forecasters warn that conditions are ripe for damaging winds, hail, and even tornadoes. The storms are anticipated to develop as early as noon and could continue through the evening hours, with the greatest threat occurring between noon and 4 p.m.

Weather experts have noted that storms from the Midwest are moving eastward, which has complicated the local weather forecast. If the conditions align favorably, the region could experience explosive thunderstorm development in the afternoon. Chief Meteorologist predicted that all types of severe weather hazards are possible.

“What happens tonight will impact tomorrow’s weather,” the meteorologist stated, mentioning that if rain lingers in the morning, it could disrupt afternoon storms. As of now, the weather is calm, but the atmosphere is beginning to humidify, with predicted afternoon highs reaching close to 80 degrees.

Residents should prepare for the possibility of strong storms, with winds being the primary concern, followed by hail. The storms are expected to pass quickly, but may bring impactful weather conditions.

Following Tuesday’s severe weather, scattered rain is likely on Wednesday with more storms expected on Thursday. While it might be wet early in the week, the weekend shows signs of drying out with temperatures sliding into the 40s early on Saturday. Organizers of the Flying Pig Marathon are reminded to prepare for potentially uncertain weather on Friday, particularly during the 50West Mile event.

The National Weather Service advised residents to stay informed about the weather conditions and take necessary precautions as the storm system moves through the area.
