Oklahoma Severe Weather Alerts Heavy Rainfall Damaging Winds

A strong storm system is impacting Oklahoma, bringing significant weather threats including heavy rainfall and severe storms. As of Sunday, November 3, multiple counties have been placed under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 4:00 a.m., affecting areas such as Caddo, Carter, Cleveland, Comanche, Garvin, Grady, Hughes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lincoln, Love, McClain, Murray, Oklahoma, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Seminole, Stephens, and Tillman County.

Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have also been issued for specific counties, including Lincoln, Pottawatomie, and Seminole County until 1:00 a.m., Cleveland and McClain County until 1:30 a.m., and Tillman County until 1:45 a.m. Additionally, a Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Caddo, Canadian, and Grady County until 2:15 a.m..

The storm system is expected to bring multiple rounds of showers and storms, with rainfall projections of 4 to 6 inches, and some localized areas potentially receiving between 8 and 10 inches. This persistent rainfall increases the risk of flooding, particularly in northeastern Oklahoma, where a flood watch is in effect from Saturday afternoon through early Monday.

The severe weather threats are not limited to flooding; there is also a risk of strong to severe storms, especially Saturday night and early Sunday morning near or southwest of the Tulsa metro area. Further severe weather is anticipated Sunday afternoon and evening across southern sections of Oklahoma, with additional severe weather expected Monday across most of eastern Oklahoma.

Residents are advised to stay weather-aware, as the storms could bring damaging winds and heavy rainfall. The weather situation is expected to improve by late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, with dry air moving into the area and leading to mostly pleasant and dry conditions for Election Day.
