Severe Weather Storm Clouds

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) – As the weekend progresses, residents of the southeastern United States can expect pleasant weather to continue before rain arrives late Sunday evening.

Saturday night will see a few passing clouds as temperatures cool down to the mid to upper 30s. Sunday promises cloudy skies with a slight chance of an afternoon shower, leading to a warm day with highs reaching the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. However, residents should prepare for a steady rain in the evening, potentially accompanied by rumbles of thunder, with lows dropping into the mid to upper 40s.

On Monday, conditions will become milder with a mix of sun and clouds, and temperatures will range from the low to mid-60s. Evening clouds will increase, bringing a chilly night with lows in the low to mid-40s. By Tuesday, the weather will bring more clouds and a slight chance of rain showers, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.

In the North, WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) reported that a First Alert Weather Day is in effect as a winter storm brings snow and hazardous travel conditions. The system is expected to deliver moderate to heavy snow from Highway 10 northward, while southward areas will transition from rain to snow before ending. Gusty winds will create additional hazards, with gusts up to 35 mph.

Lake effect snow showers are expected to persist as snowfall totals accumulate, particularly near and north of Highway 29. A Winter Storm Warning and Weather Advisory remain in effect through early Monday morning. With temperatures expected to drop to the mid-20s overnight, agencies warn of slippery conditions during the Monday morning commute.

Over in BRYAN, Texas (KBTX), residents should prepare for rain and potential storms as Gulf moisture returns. Starting Sunday morning, light showers are expected, intensifying as a cold front approaches around 6:00 p.m. Storm risk will increase with the frontal boundary, and hail and damaging winds are the primary concerns. Although the Storm Prediction Center indicated a low-risk level for severe weather, isolated strong storms are possible as the night progresses.

As reports come in from areas across the Midwest and South, meteorologists are urging residents to remain vigilant. Enhanced weather conditions could persist, especially as attention turns towards a separate weather maker potentially affecting the region next weekend.

With the unpredictability of spring weather, residents should stay informed through trusted weather services and prepare for changing conditions over the coming days.
