North Texas Severe Thunderstorms Forecast

DALLAS, Texas — North Texas is bracing for strong storms and heavy rainfall this weekend, with severe weather possible, particularly east of Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) through the evening hours on Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued warnings indicating the possibility of thunderstorms developing across East Texas Friday afternoon and into the evening. “All modes of severe weather are possible, including heavy rainfall and flash flooding,” said meteorologist Jane Smith.

As the storms roll in, widespread rain is expected from Friday night into Saturday morning, with localities likely experiencing heavy downpours and subsequent flooding risks.

According to the latest forecast, the chance of rain is at 100% overnight, with overnight lows around 51 degrees. Winds will be from the north at 10 to 15 mph. For Saturday, the rain will persist through the morning, tapering off by early afternoon, while daytime temperatures will peak around 56 degrees, with breezy conditions expected.

A dry and cooler weather pattern is predicted to return by Sunday, followed by a more pleasant forecast for next week, with daily temperatures gradually climbing back into the 70s and 80s.

The detailed forecast for the upcoming week includes: Sunday will be cool with highs near 54 degrees, and mostly clear conditions are expected on Monday with highs hitting 69 degrees. Further forecasts indicate mostly sunny and warm weather, with highs reaching into the low 80s by Friday.

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and to exercise caution while traveling during severe weather conditions.
