Milwaukee Weather Forecast April 2025

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Residents of Milwaukee are bracing for potentially severe weather as afternoon showers are expected to roll in on Thursday, with forecasters warning of a possible cold front arriving on Friday.

This Impact Day will be characterized by a mix of sun and clouds leading into the afternoon, with high temperatures forecasted around 57 degrees. Meteorologists indicate that while today will begin dry, showers are likely to develop between 2 and 3 p.m., intensifying as the day progresses.

“If we get sufficient atmospheric energy, we could see strong storms; if not, the cold front might pass through too quickly for severe weather to develop,” said a local weather expert. There is concern that thunderstorms could disrupt evening commutes on Thursday and into Friday morning.

A significant amount of moisture is anticipated overnight, with a low of 50 degrees expected. Light showers may also produce light thunder and lightning through the evening, leading to wet pavement for Friday’s morning commute, though most of the rain may have subsided by then.

The potential for severe weather remains contingent on the timing of the cold front and the availability of sunlight to fuel storms on Friday. Morning forecasts predict more clouds than sun, with afternoon and evening thunderstorms possible, as highs reach near 70 degrees.

${also,} winds are expected to pick up, ranging from 15 to 25 mph, complicating the weather dynamics across the region. Eastern Dodge County has already reported gusts that might continue to cool areas near the lakefront.

Parents with children or pets sensitive to thunderstorms should prepare for noise disturbances overnight. In addition, the same weather patterns could lead some areas to experience scattered showers and throughout the weekend, including on Easter Sunday.

Looking ahead, meteorologists are predicting cooler weather across the region for Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures dipping into the low to mid-50s. Rain chances are expected to increase again on Easter Sunday, particularly in the afternoon.

Pittsburgh and surrounding areas are also expected to experience similar rain events in the coming days. Weather advisories have been issued for areas across Western Pennsylvania, which will see an Impact Day on Monday, indicating that commuters may face disruptions due to rain and storms.

The forecast continues to evolve, stressing the importance of monitoring local weather updates to stay informed about potential severe weather threats in your area.
