Severe Weather Threat Looms Over Northern Arkansas This Week

Little Rock, Arkansas – Forecasters are warning of severe weather conditions expected to impact northern Arkansas on Tuesday and Wednesday. These storms may bring damaging winds and large hail, leading to risks of flash flooding.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for several counties in northern Arkansas, including Baxter, Fulton, Marion, Searcy, Sharp, and others. This watch will remain in effect until 3 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Chris Buonanno, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in North Little Rock, “It’s primarily those first two rows of counties in northern Arkansas under the watch right now.” The storm system is predicted to produce hail as large as golf balls and winds reaching speeds of 60 mph.
In Benton County, hundreds of customers experienced power outages as the severe weather system moved through the area. Residents are advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions and take precautions as storms approach.
The National Weather Service will continue to monitor the situation and issue further updates as necessary. Community members should stay informed and prepare for possible severe weather.
