Metro Detroit Weather Advisory Strong Winds

DETROIT, Mich. — Strong gusty winds exceeding 45 mph are affecting most of Metro Detroit this evening, prompting a Wind Advisory in effect until 10 p.m. Monday night. The National Weather Service alerts that residents should be cautious due to these high winds.

The advisory indicates that while gusts will continue into the night, wind speeds are expected to taper off on Tuesday, ranging between 20 to 25 mph. Forecasters also mention a slight chance of rain on Wednesday afternoon, although the primary opportunity for precipitation is anticipated on Friday night.

Temperatures in the region are projected to remain above average throughout the week, with highs lingering in the low to mid-70s. These mild conditions come as many residents transition to spring activities.

Emmy-award winning meteorologist Kim Adams, who rejoined the 4Warn Weather Team in August 2022, emphasizes the importance of staying informed about weather conditions. Viewers can watch her during the evening newscasts at 4, 5, 6, 10, and 11 p.m.

Adams recommends downloading the free 4Warn Weather app, which is available on both iPhones and Android devices. It provides real-time weather updates and alerts to keep residents prepared.

As the winds persist and weather patterns shift, residents are advised to secure loose items outdoors and stay alert to changing conditions.
