Shenyang-Korea Investment and Trade Expo Enhances Sino-Korean Collaborations
The Shenyang-Korea Investment and Trade Expo, part of the broader Shenyang South Korea Week 2024, commenced on September 26th at the Shenyang New World Expo Center. The event promotes the theme of “Sharing Opportunities, Joint Planning for Development, and Creating the Future Together.” This year’s South Korea Week features over a hundred Korean enterprises showcasing more than 400 items, emphasizing economic, cultural, and sports exchanges, as well as consumption promotions.
The event aims to strengthen Shenyang’s foreign openness and advance cooperation with South Korea. A representative from the Shenyang Municipal Commerce Bureau highlighted the importance of economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea, noting the Republic of Korea‘s role as Shenyang’s second-largest source of foreign investment and fifth-largest trading partner.
Around twenty activities have been planned, encompassing a variety of domains to enhance Sino-Korean cooperation. These include seminars with companies from both nations, keynote speeches, and thematic promotional events aimed at fostering economic development and industrial cooperation. Additionally, there are seven cultural and sports exchange activities, including the Chinese-Korean Gastronomy Fair at Xita Chaoxian Culture Street, where visitors can participate in Korean cuisine sampling and other immersive activities.
Since its establishment in 2002, South Korea Week has facilitated increased economic and cultural cooperation between China and South Korea. The event, now in its 20th iteration, extended its reach by hosting the “Korea-Shenyang Activities Week 2024” in Seoul, bolstering Shenyang’s reputation in South Korea.
