Shiv Sena Mla Anil Babar Passes Away At 74

Shiv Sena MLA Anil Babar, aged 74, has sadly passed away after a brief illness in Sangli, Maharashtra. He was a prominent Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Khanapur Vidhan Sabha constituency since 2009.

Born on January 7, 1950, into a farmer family in Gardi village, Khanapur taluka, Anil Babar entered politics at the age of 19 and was elected as the Sarpanch of Gardi village. Over the years, he established himself as a significant figure in Maharashtra politics, representing the Khanapur constituency for four consecutive terms.

An advocate for farmers’ rights and rural development, Babar played a crucial role in various infrastructure projects within his constituency, including the construction of roads, bridges, and irrigation canals. He actively participated in social welfare activities to uplift marginalized communities.

The state cabinet meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, has been cancelled as Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is enroute to Sangli to meet Babar’s family. Shinde expressed his condolences in an official statement and paid tribute to the late Shiv Sena leader, acknowledging Babar’s contributions to the party and his constituency.

Babar’s dedication to public service earned him respect among the people of Khanapur. Known for his commitment to the Shiv Sena party, he was anticipated to continue playing a significant role in Maharashtra politics in the future.
