Shooting Leaves One Dead in Biscayne Gardens, Police Seek Suspect

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives are actively searching for a shooting suspect following the death of a 38-year-old man early Tuesday morning in the Biscayne Gardens neighborhood of northeastern Miami-Dade County. The victim has been identified as Romainson Joseph, according to a statement from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office (M-DSO).
The shooting occurred shortly before 6 a.m. near the intersection of Northeast 151 Street and Northeast Sixth Avenue, west of North Miami Beach. Deputies cordoned off the area with crime scene tape, blocking the entrance to the complex.
Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as Miami-Dade fire rescue personnel pronounced Joseph dead on-site, between a row of townhomes and a fence near the dead-end at Northeast 151 Street. Witnesses described the area as they battled pain and confusion in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy.
Sondrea Broomfield, a nearby resident, expressed concern. “I hope they do find out who did it,” she said, voicing the fears of many in the community shaken by the violence.
Detective Joseph R. Peguero Rivera of M-DSO urged anyone with video or information about the incident to come forward. “We need the community’s help to bring this case to a resolution,” he stated during a press briefing.
Hours after the shooting, visible remnants of the event—blood on the ground and debris scattered about—remained a stark reminder of the morning’s violence.
The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with further information to contact Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
