San Antonio Bar Shooting News

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A 59-year-old man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being shot in the head in an altercation outside a bar late Tuesday night.

The San Antonio Police Department reported that officers arrived at the scene shortly before 11 p.m. in the 400 block of Historic Old Highway 90. They found the victim outside of his SUV, unresponsive, after an argument with another man inside a nearby bar.

According to a preliminary report from SAPD, witnesses say the victim had exited the bar only to confront the shooter, who then retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and fired at the man while he was seated in his SUV.

After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene and remains at large. While police initially stated a woman was seen with the shooter, that detail was not referenced in the latest report.

The victim was quickly transported to the hospital where he is in critical condition. Detectives are actively investigating the incident, gathering eyewitness accounts and reviewing surveillance footage from the area.

The local community has expressed concern over rising crime rates in San Antonio, with business owners on the South Side reporting an increase in criminal activity over recent weeks.
