Silverton High School Lockdown Ends With No Active Threat

SILVERTON, Ore. — Silverton police confirmed that there was no active threat following a lockdown at Silverton High School on Friday due to a report of a possible shooting.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., the Silver Falls School District announced the lockdown, prompting police to respond. Minutes later, the police department urged the public to avoid the area as they investigated the incident.
By 2:18 p.m., police declared there was “no active threat at this time,” but officers remained on the scene to continue their investigation. Parents were directed to the nearby tennis courts at Silverton Middle School for reunification with their students.
Anthony Rosilez, the district’s assistant superintendent, stated that during the lockdown, all other schools in the district had secured their perimeters. “The safety of our students and staff is our top priority,” he said.
As of now, there has been no confirmation of whether a shooting actually occurred, and authorities are expected to release more information as the investigation progresses.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.
