Siya And Rachel Kolisi's Inspiring Journey: Changing The Narrative Of Inequality In South Africa

Siya and Rachel Kolisi, two beloved figures in South Africa, have captured the hearts of many with their inspiring journey. Rachel, formerly known as Rachel Smith, was born in Makhanda, Eastern Cape, on January 21, 1990.

Their paths crossed in 2012 at a dinner event in Stellenbosch, even before Siya Kolisi earned his first Springbok call-up. In 2015, they welcomed their first child, Nicholas Siyamthanda, into the world.

Siya and Rachel united in matrimony on August 13, 2016. Their love and devotion have been evident throughout their relationship, with Siya often praising Rachel for her unwavering support, resilience, and role as a prayer warrior by helping him overcome a drinking problem he faced early in his career.

The couple’s family expanded when they officially adopted Siya’s young half-siblings, Liyema and Liphelo. In 2021, Rachel gave birth to their adorable daughter, Keziah, completing the family.

To manage their household, Rachel put her career as a marketing executive on pause, fully dedicating herself to her family. Additionally, Siya and Rachel established the Kolisi Foundation shortly after the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Through their foundation, they strive to leverage their influence and profile for the betterment of South Africa and its communities.

Recently, Siya Kolisi announced his move to Racing 92 in France, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Kolisi family. However, despite their relocation, the Kolisi Foundation remains committed to continuing their invaluable work in South Africa. Siya and Rachel will work tirelessly to raise funds and establish partnerships, even from a distance.

The Kolisi Foundation expresses their excitement for the opportunities that lie ahead and their unwavering dedication to changing the narratives of inequality in South Africa. Although Siya and Rachel will be physically absent from the South African communities, their impact will be felt through their ongoing efforts to support and empower the nation.

As the Kolisi family embarks on this new adventure, the Kolisi Foundation wishes them all the best. Siya and Rachel’s inspiring journey serves as a beacon of hope and demonstrates how individuals can make a profound difference in their communities and beyond.
