Sling Freestream New Channels Announcement

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — In a strategy to lead the free ad-supported streaming market, Sling TV announced on September 25, 2025, the addition of seven new channels to its Freestream service. This expansion brings the total number of live channels on the platform to over 700, making it an attractive option for cord-cutters seeking affordable content.

One standout addition is a 24/7 Barney channel, designed to engage families with wholesome, educational programming. Sling Freestream, which launched in early 2023, initially offered just over 200 channels but has since expanded to include more than 41,000 hours of on-demand movies and series, featuring favorites like Hell’s Kitchen and The Walking Dead.

The service remains completely free, requiring no login or credit card information, and is accessible on various devices through the Sling app or website. With this latest rollout, Sling aims to better serve niche audiences, including reality TV fans, sports enthusiasts, and horror lovers.

Among the new channels are titles designed for diverse interests. Reality TV fans can tune into Highway Thru Hell, showcasing heavy-rescue crews in action. The channel’s spiritual successor, Highway to Highway, explores the thrilling world of roadside rescues.

Sports fans get a unique offering with K-Baseball TV, presenting live and archived games from South Korea’s top baseball league, complete with English subtitles. True-crime aficionados can watch Operation Repo, a long-standing series detailing the intense world of repossession.

For horror enthusiasts, Scares by Shudder provides a curated selection of frightening shorts and classic films, while Sports Illustrated delivers a continuous stream of highlights and insights from the iconic magazine.

Users can access the new channels immediately on supported devices, including smart TVs, Roku, and Fire TV. Sling encourages new viewers to explore the full Freestream library, which features news content from CNN, movies from Paramount, and lifestyle programming from HGTV—all ad-supported and subscription-free.
