Please Don't Destroy The Treasure Of Foggy Mountain Cast

NEW YORK — A year after its release, the comedy film *Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain* has unexpectedly climbed into Peacock‘s Top 10 streaming chart. The movie, written by and starring the comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy, debuted on the platform in November 2023 but gained little traction until recently.

The film follows three childhood friends—played by Martin Herlihy, John Higgins, and Ben Marshall—who embark on a treasure hunt to rekindle their friendship. Along the way, they encounter hairless bears, park rangers, and a cult leader, played by Bowen Yang. The movie also features cameos from Conan O'Brien, John Goodman, and *Stranger Things* star Gaten Matarazzo.

Despite a lukewarm critical reception, with a 42% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has resonated with audiences, earning a 90% audience score. On IMDb, it holds a 6/10 average rating. Critics have noted its charm and comedic timing, with MovieWeb calling it “one of the best comedies of the year.”

Please Don’t Destroy, the trio behind the film, gained fame through viral TikTok and Twitter videos during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their success led to roles as writers for *Saturday Night Live* in 2021, where they became known for skits like “Three Sad Virgins” featuring Pete Davidson and Taylor Swift.

The film’s sudden resurgence coincides with the return of *SNL* on January 18, hosted by Dave Chappelle. While the exact reason for its newfound popularity remains unclear, Peacock subscribers are embracing the movie’s humor and lighthearted adventure.

*Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain* is currently streaming on Peacock.
