Sony Unveils $20 Price Drop on DualSense Controllers Before Black Friday
NEW YORK, NY — Sony has kicked off an early Black Friday sale, introducing a rare $20 price cut on its DualSense Wireless Controllers. This promotion, which runs through December 18, features discounts across multiple models, including standard and limited editions.
n
The standard DualSense controllers are now priced at $54.99, matching their all-time low, while limited edition designs inspired by popular PlayStation franchises, such as Astro Bot and God of War, are available for about $64.
n
“These discounts represent the best opportunity for PlayStation 5 owners to expand their collection of controllers ahead of the holiday shopping season,” said a retail analyst.
n
Besides the price drops, the DualSense controller offers players unique features. Its haptic feedback technology allows users to feel sensations that enhance gaming immersion. For instance, when walking through sand in a video game, players can sense the texture through the controller’s vibrations.
n
The controllers also feature adaptive triggers that adjust resistance depending on gameplay actions. This can create a more realistic feel, such as feeling the tension of drawing a bowstring or the differences in driving on mud versus asphalt.
n
The DualSense battery lasts about eight hours and charges via USB-C. Players can use the controller not just with PlayStation 5, but also with PCs and Macs via Bluetooth or wired connection.
n
Retailers participating in the sale include Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. This marks a strategic move by Sony to capture early holiday shoppers and those waiting until closer to Black Friday.
n
With this price cut, Sony aims to boost sales of the DualSense controllers during a critical holiday shopping window. As interest in PlayStation 5 continues to grow, experts believe that the company’s aggressive pricing strategy may result in significantly increased controller sales through the end of the year.
