COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) — The South Carolina State Fair will take place from Oct. 8-19, inviting guests to enjoy 12 days filled with rides, food, and entertainment. Tickets and ride vouchers are available online and at select Circle K stores.

Parking at the fairgrounds will cost $10 per vehicle daily, except on Oct. 18, when prices rise to $20 due to a South Carolina football game. Credit and debit cards are the only accepted payment methods for parking.

New security measures include a mandatory clear bag policy, with exceptions for diaper bags and medically necessary items. These guidelines aim to enhance safety for all attendees. Additionally, a revised Youth Admission Policy mandates all minors under 18 be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 21 after 5 p.m. on Sundays to Thursdays, and all day on Fridays and Saturdays.

This year, the fair introduces a special SC250 exhibit celebrating South Carolina’s role in the Revolutionary War, featuring reenactors, displays, and opportunities to sign the Declaration of Independence. Located in the Ruff Building, the exhibit will immerse visitors in the state’s rich history.

Food lovers can look forward to 15 new culinary offerings, including Jim’s Fries and the Giant Tenderloin Sandwich, along with returning favorites like fried Oreos and foot-long corn dogs.

Entertainment options abound, featuring performances on the Pepsi Place Stage and various shows across other stages, including live music and comedy acts. There will also be a free daily CIRCUS with fresh acts every day.

Nancy Smith, general manager of the SC State Fair, emphasized the event’s tradition, stating, “From exciting rides and one-of-a-kind foods to live entertainment, this year’s fair promises something for everyone.”

The fair also aims to support the community by awarding over $500,000 in scholarships annually.

As part of the 2025 theme, “Harvesting Happiness,” the fair encourages guests to create lasting memories. Visitors can embrace South Carolina’s agricultural roots through various activities and displays throughout the event.
