The long-running speculation about the casting of the upcoming installment of the ‘Dhoom‘ franchise has taken a new turn. Reports have surfaced suggesting that Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has been chosen to lead the much-anticipated ‘Dhoom 4’, tentatively titled ‘Dhoom Reloaded’. This news has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, ranging from excitement to disappointment among fans and netizens.

Initial rumors had included prominent names such as Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan as potential candidates to play the antagonist role in the series. However, recent updates indicate that Ranbir may be stepping into the spotlight. Social media platforms have been abuzz with both criticism and support following the report, reflecting a divided audience.

A notable aspect of the ongoing discussion is the reported exclusion of Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, who have been key figures as ACP Jai Dixit and Sub Inspector Ali Akbar Fateh Khan in the ‘Dhoom’ series. This development has left many fans questioning whether Ranbir Kapoor will be able to uphold the legacy of the franchise.

Opinions among social media users vary widely. One commentator predicted failure for the film, stating, “It will be flop guarantee,” while another criticized the decision, saying, “Relax guys! They want to flop the movie.” Further comments included suggestions for other actors, such as, “They could’ve cast Hrithik and John both,” and “Only Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, otherwise don’t make Dhoom 4.”

Despite the mixed reactions, Ranbir Kapoor’s association with ‘Dhoom 4’ is seen as a significant addition to his upcoming projects. After the acclaimed success of his previous film, ‘Animal‘ in 2023, Kapoor is currently involved in filming Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana‘. He is also set to appear in ‘Love & War‘, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
