SSC Releases Provisional Answer Key for CGL Tier I Exam 2024
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the provisional answer key for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier I Examination of 2024. Candidates who participated in the examination, which was held from September 9 to September 26, can now access the answer key on the SSC’s official website, ssc.gov.in.
Eligible candidates will need their registration number and password to view their response sheets and the tentative answer keys. The answer key is expected to assist candidates in assessing their performance before the final results are declared.
The examination comprised objective-type, multiple-choice questions covering topics such as General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Each of these sections featured 25 questions with a total mark of 50. Except for the English Comprehension section, the exam was available in both English and Hindi.
In this recruitment drive, the SSC aims to fill approximately 17,727 vacancies across several governmental departments and organizations. Minimum qualifying marks have been set at 30% for unreserved candidates, 25% for candidates from Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and 20% for other categories.
Simultaneously, the Commission has opened a window for candidates to raise objections against the provisional answer key. This window will remain open until October 6, 2024. To file an objection, candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of ₹100 per question.
The objections will be scrutinized by the Commission before the final answer keys are released. It’s important for candidates to take note that no re-evaluation or re-checking of answers will be entertained at any stage of the examination process.
Following the release of the final answer key, candidates will be shortlisted on a category-wise basis to appear in the upcoming Tier II examination, scheduled for December 2024. The exact dates for Tier II will be announced in due course. Paper I is compulsory for all posts, while Paper II is designated for applicants to certain statistical roles in governmental ministries and offices.
The SSC has reiterated that the provisional answer key will not be available on its previous website, hence candidates should ensure to refer to the current official site for accurate information.
