Stafford County Winter Storm Aftermath

Stafford County offices, departments, and courts will open on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, as the region recovers from a recent winter storm. Juvenile and Domestic Relations (JDR) courts will remain closed for the day, while Circuit and General District Courts will open at 10 a.m., with cases beginning at 11 a.m.

The R-Board/Regional Landfill locations at Eskimo Hill and Belman Road will open on time, with both residential and commercial operations starting at 8 a.m. Stafford Public Schools, however, will remain closed due to ongoing weather-related challenges.

Residents are encouraged to visit the county’s emergency information website for the latest updates, resources, and information. The delay comes as part of the region’s efforts to ensure safety and clear roadways following the storm.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin issued a notice on Friday, urging residents to take personal preparedness actions, including preparing homes and vehicles for winter weather. For real-time traffic conditions, residents can dial 5-1-1 or visit the state’s transportation website.
