Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Returns to Theaters for 20th Anniversary

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Lucasfilm announced today that Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith will return to theaters on April 25, 2025, to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The iconic film will screen in U.S. theaters and select international locations for one week only.
This re-release marks the first time that Revenge of the Sith will be available in 4DX, an immersive format featuring motion chairs and over 21 synchronized effects that enhance the cinematic experience. According to a statement from Lucasfilm, this technology aims to complement the film’s narrative and action sequences.
Renowned graphic artist Matt Ferguson has designed a new poster for the re-release, showcasing his intricate artwork that depicts Darth Vader’s imposing mask looming over Anakin Skywalker, foreshadowing his fateful transformation. The poster also features the climactic duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar.
Originally released in 2005, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith plays a pivotal role in the Star Wars saga, chronicling the tragic fall of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker as he succumbs to the dark side and becomes Darth Vader. The film highlights the decline of the Jedi Order and the rise of the Galactic Empire. Key characters include Obi-Wan Kenobi, portrayed by Ewan McGregor, and Yoda, voiced by Disney Legend Frank Oz.
