Stella Banderas and Alex Gruszynski Celebrate Wedding in Spain

VALLADOLID, Spain — Stella Banderas married her longtime love, Alex Gruszynski, on Saturday, Oct. 18, in a beautiful ceremony held at the historic Abadía Retuerta estate. The wedding, hosted in Spain, was a poignant moment for the couple and their families.

Stella, 29, and Alex, 28, celebrated their love in front of about 200 guests, including many famous friends and family members. Among them were Malia and Sasha Obama, who attended to support their friend.

Antonio Banderas, Stella’s father, expressed his emotions about the day on social media two days later. “The wedding of my daughter Stella has turned into a heartfelt family reunion, emotional, joyful, and full of laughter,” he wrote. He shared a collection of family photos, thanking everyone involved.

Stella, the daughter of Banderas and actress Melanie Griffith, said she chose the Castilla region of Spain for the wedding to honor her father’s roots in Málaga. “I feel so lucky to be getting married in the country where I was born,” she stated.

Antonio, visibly proud, toasted the couple during the ceremony, wearing a classic black tuxedo. He noted that having Stella marry in Spain brings him great pride, as it reestablishes connections to their family heritage.

The couple had been engaged since August 2024, when Stella shared her excitement on social media about marrying her childhood sweetheart. Their friendship dates back to preschool in Los Angeles.

“It’s a joy to see my daughter dressed as a bride, one of the most beautiful moments of my life,” Antonio shared, expressing his happiness for the union.

The wedding details included a strict no-phone policy and confidentiality agreements for staff to ensure the day remained private. Guests enjoyed an elaborate outdoor cocktail reception followed by a gala lunch.
