Suki Waterhouse Talks Vintage Style in Free People’s New Campaign
LOS ANGELES, CA — Actress and singer Suki Waterhouse recently shared her thoughts on fashion during a photoshoot for Free People’s fall campaign. The shoot features Waterhouse embodying a nostalgic and free-spirited look, which she describes as a reflection of her personal style.
“I’m a nostalgic person for the old times, so if at least half my outfit is vintage, I’m happiest,” Waterhouse said. She emphasized her love for rewearing clothing, believing that certain items hold special powers and connections to the past.
When discussing stage outfits, she revealed that dressing for performances allows her to explore her fashion influences without hesitation. “Stage has become this place where I can enjoy all my influences and dress the way I’d always wanted to,” she noted, mentioning the freedom to experiment with various styles.
Waterhouse expressed her admiration for Free People as a brand that encourages playful fashion choices. “What I love about Free People is that we both love to play with clothing and different styles,” she said, explaining how the campaign captured her essence right before and after a show.
Reflecting on her first experience with Free People, she recalled being drawn to their basics, such as perfect fitting tank tops and t-shirts. She believes these classic pieces allow for a bohemian style that is making a comeback.
“I think people want to feel some sort of ownership over their personal style, and this bohemian look leaves the door wide open for people to really discover themselves,” Waterhouse said, discussing the appeal of boho chic in 2025.
One standout look from the campaign for Waterhouse was an ensemble featuring a big coat and red corduroy pants. “It’s exactly what I was talking about when saying I love playing with different kinds of textures,” she said. “It felt like that could easily fit into what I would naturally wear on stage.”
After the shoot, she found herself inspired by a long dress paired with a hat from the first shot of the campaign. “I’ve been loving those kinds of pieces a lot lately,” Waterhouse shared.
