Sunny, Breezy Conditions Return to South Carolina This Weekend

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – South Carolina is expected to experience sunny, chilly, and breezy conditions on Thursday, with temperatures starting in the 30s and reaching mid-50s later in the day. Northwest winds will blow at about 10 mph, creating a mildly brisk atmosphere.
Tonight, the skies will remain mostly clear, bringing lows in the upper 20s to mid-30s. Friday will see a slight warm-up with partly cloudy skies and highs around 63 degrees, along with light winds shifting to the southwest.
As we head toward the weekend, the forecast indicates warmer temperatures with highs climbing into the lower to mid-70s on Saturday. However, a cold front is expected to move through, leading to partly cloudy conditions with a 40 percent chance of showers late Saturday evening into Sunday.
“We’ll kick off the weekend with plenty of sunshine and gusty winds,” said WCSC meteorologist. “Temperatures will be warm on Saturday but watch for a significant drop on Sunday with expected highs only in the upper 50s.”
Rain is likely to commence early Sunday morning, bringing intermittent showers throughout the day. This weather pattern may bring accumulated rain totals of 1-3 inches by Monday afternoon. Following the wet conditions, drier air will take hold as a high-pressure system settles in on Tuesday.
Next week looks promising, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing back into the 70s. As we approach mid-March, residents can anticipate milder weather, providing a welcome respite from the chill.
