Omaha Weather Forecast April 2025

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) — The Omaha area is set to experience a beautiful Monday, with meteorologists predicting ideal conditions after a week of cooler, wet weather. Temperatures are expected to reach the low 70s, making it a potential top-10 day to kick off the week.

Forecasters indicate a break from the recent rain, with a high around 70 degrees and sunny skies today. The warm conditions are a departure from yesterday’s chilly temperatures, which were in the 30s during the early morning. “It’s a great day to get outside and enjoy some sunshine,” said meteorologist Sean Everson.

As residents step out this morning, they may want to grab a jacket, especially on the Nebraska side of the river where temperatures lingered in the low 40s. “Feel-like temperatures dipped into the 30s due to the light northwesterly breeze, but expect a nice warm-up by midday,” Everson added.

Although the sun shines brightly today, forecasters warn of incoming weather patterns that may bring scattered showers and thunderstorms later in the week. A slight chance of rainfall is anticipated this evening after sunset, with better chances expected on Wednesday and Thursday.

A cold front moving through the area could trigger isolated showers, particularly in northeastern Nebraska tonight and potentially spotty downpours. Although Tuesday remains mostly dry, a marginal risk for severe weather is highlighted for Wednesday across southwest Nebraska, where strong storms producing hail and gusty winds may develop.

On Monday afternoon, wind gusts may increase slightly, prompting a Red Flag Warning for parts of central and western Nebraska due to heightened fire danger. A Frost Advisory is currently in effect until 8 a.m. in Lincoln and areas to the west, warning residents of potential frost and chilly conditions as temperatures may briefly drop below freezing before warming up.

Looking ahead, the remainder of the week features multiple rain chances, with temperatures dipping to the 60s after today’s warm temperatures. By the end of the weekend, another round of showers and storms is expected, with meteorologists emphasizing the necessity of moisture without the threat of severe weather. The region’s rainfall amounts are anticipated to vary, with some areas possibly receiving over one inch if they fall under concentrated thunderstorms.
